The Salvation Army of Dane County

The Salvation Army is an international organization founded by William Booth, a London minister, in 1865. In Wisconsin, its Madison Corps is the local unit that governs the activities of The Salvation Army of Dane County.

For over 110 years, the Madison Corps has offered spiritual ministry, social services, and youth programs to thousands of Dane County residents annually without discrimination.  We currently serve the most vulnerable members of our community through a wide range of programs, as well as extensive case management services.  While we strive to provide compassionate care, a primary goal of all of our programs and services is to improve the life skills and circumstances of those we serve.  Some of our many programs and services include:

Shelter for homeless families
Shelter for homeless single women
Emergency shelter for families and women
Holly House - a transitional house for women
Case management services for families transitioning from homelessness to housing

Education - After school program, including tutoring and mentoring
Character building programs
Summer day camp
Sports and recreation progrms

Food and Care
Food pantry
Medical and dental care for the homeless
